Department of Biostatistics

Information for Prospective Students

Biostatistics is one of the most exciting areas of applied statistics! We collaborate with scientists in nearly every area related to health and biology. Statistical models and methodologies have provided invaluable insight into the etiology of AIDS, cancer, genetics, psychology and numerous other areas of scientific research.

Our department offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biostatistics and, through the School of Public Health, the M.P.H. and Dr.P.H. degrees with a specialization in biostatistics (see Public Health School-wide Programs). All students receive a balanced education, blending theory and practice. For more information on our department and degrees, please download this overview.
