Data mining: association study of SNPs in 3'-UTR motifs and mRNA levels in human lymphocytes
In animals, 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) of mRNA usually contain sequence elements that regulate
its stability. This talk will present a study that utilizes the publicly available genomic data to
compares 3'UTR sequences in the fast decay and the slow decay mRNAs, and to examine the single nucleotide
polymorphisms (SNPs) in the 3'UTR sequence motifs (including AU-rich elements, microRNA targets, and ploy-A
signal sites) that may have an effect on the mRNA level in human.
