Research and Interests
My research interests generally relate to uncovering the mechanisms behind HIV pathogenesis. To this end, I work closely with investigators in the clinical and basic sciences (1;2;3;4;5). I am particularly interested in HIV drug resistance mutation/recombination (6;7), viral fitness and coreceptor utilization (8;9;10;11;12). I work to develop methods to understand the evolutionary dynamics of gene regions under the selective pressure of the host immune system and antiretrovirals. (13;14;15;16;17). I am also interested in complex, high-dimensional data analysis where we have large p and small n (18;19). These methods have been applied to infer relationships between virus genotype and phenotype.
